The national specifications include, inter alia, the following: rules for formulating  proposals for multi-annual and annual mine and UXO clearance plans, clearance and  inspection companies approval rules and procedures, rules regulating the activities of these companies from the planning stage, clearance operations rules and procedures, insurance against injuries related to mine clearance including the companies' professional liability towards third parties, inspection and survey operations while maintaining the safety rules and guaranteeing the quality of the operation until the area is cleared.
The task of clearing mines and UXOs is a very sensitive task, due to the risk posed to anyone engaged in the clearing work on the one hand, and due to the responsibility involved in converting a cleared area into an area designated for civilian use. These risks and responsibilities require extreme care and strict compliance with the provisions of the national specifications, strictly applying all safety and professional rules and procedures by all workers at the clearance site.
Appendices
Some of the appendices attached to the national specifications contain forms used by the various suppliers and the RLPM in the clearance activities. Since the forms change from time to time, they are not interwoven within the specifications (as was previously done), but appear on the RLPM's website.
At the request of many suppliers, the forms appear in an editable version, which makes it easier to download and use them individually.
